GETTING READY FOR YOUR ALL DAY SURF LESSON
IF YOU OR ANY MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD ARE DISPLAYING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND YOUR SESSION.IF ANYONE DISPLAYS SYMPTOMS DURING A SESSION THEY WILL BE SAFELY REMOVED FROM THE SESSION OR ISOLATED UNTIL A PARENT/GUARDIAN CAN COLLECT THEM.
With the continued threat of Covid-19 please ensure you read the information below so that you are ready for your surf lesson and to ensure we are all playing our part in keeping everyone safe.

We are based near the middle slip of the beach in between Cafe Remo's and the Aberavon Surf Life Saving Club

FINDING US
GETTING READY
-
Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time

On arrival please head to the flag on the grassed area
-
Here you will find up to 10 surf stations set out 2 meters apart - please stand on the first available surf station
-
Any accompanying adult/spectators must stand outside of the surf station and keeping 2m distance from any other persons
-
Your surf station will be set up with a board and basket which will include your rash vest and anti bacteria gel - please use the gel as soon as you arrive

All equipment will be disinfected before and after use for your safety
-
Your instructor will then come over to check you in. if you have your own wetsuit then please wear it. If not your instructor will get a wetsuit for you and leave it 2m away for you to collect

There are no changing rooms available so we recommend you wear your swimsuit under your clothes so that you can change on your surf station, using a towel if needed

Once changed you can place your belongings into your basket and we will store them in our van for you or you can chose to store in your vehicle/leave with family member

HEADING TO THE BEACH

Time to head to the beach, you can pair up if required with one person at the front and one person at the back of the boards - keeping 2m distance between you.

Any spectators are welcome to head down to the beach but must ensure they keep a 2m distance at all times

Your boards will then be placed in a semi-circle, 2m away from others for the safety briefing and surf demonstrations

Please ensure you keep 2m from others at all times - on the beach/in the water
-
If you need assistance on the waves in the water then your instructor may be able to help - please ask for assistance. 2m distance will be kept at all times

LUNCH TIME

After your morning session you will head back up to dry land for your lunch break (approx 45-60mins)

Please bring a warm coat or jumper for you to put on during your lunch break to keep warm as we do not have any undercover shelter

Children under 18 will be supervised during the lunch break and must bring a packed lunch with them as they will not be able to go to shop/local restaurant to purchase food/drink

For adults attending or if an adult is accompanying a child then you will be permitted to use local amenities for lunch if you wish but you must be back at the meeting point at 12:50pm. Closest places for lunch are Remo's, Franco's, Chippy4U, Spar & Texaco

After lunch you will head back down to the water for another surf session

AFTER YOUR LESSON

At the end of the lesson you will head back up to your surf station where your basket will be waiting for you

Please place the board back at your surf station, remove your wetsuit and leave it on the board along with your rash vest

Our staff will then remove the equipment after you have left ready for them to be deep cleaned
